PUERTO RICO
2018
Overview
The devastating impact of Hurricane Maria was so bad that residents in need of medical help could not get to a doctor given the conditions of the roads, costs, and unreliability of health insurance. RELIEF Foundation sprung to action and organized a trip with 20 volunteers to assist and ran a medical clinic in Utuado for a community of 7,000 people in 7 surrounding communities. By treating 120 patients with staff and supplies including Telemedicine devices, RELIEF was instrumental in providing healthcare assistance.
